We found this interesting vehicle when we lined up to board the ferry for Ketchikan. John later talked to the driver and found out he was working for Google. He had been traveling around Alaska taking the street pictures with this 350-degree camera. We saw him again on the next ferry and found out he probably filmed our motorhome the previous morning when he drove by the area where we had camped beside the road. In a few months we are going to see if we can locate our RV, after Google has put it on line.
Leaving Petersburg the ship had to negotiate the Wrangell Narrows. The ship ran at reduced speed with a lookout at the bow. This was the most dangerous part of our trip.
We met or overtook a number of tugs with their payload. This one was pulling a big barge of containers. It looked top heavy.
